Horseback Adventures

Looking for a trail ride getaway?  The Fortune Ranch has what you are looking for.  We invite you to bring your horses for a trail ride on our working cattle ranch located in the heart of the Badlands. The 15,000 acres will allow you to ride where you want and experience wildlife, capture the beauty of the Badlands and the daily ranch work.

The Fortune Ranch Cow Camp is one of a few trailheads connected to a proposed trail system for horseback riding. The Cow Camp is located on the north end of the ranch where there is an old log barn and corrals to keep your horses. We will also provide water and electricity for your camping needs.

While you are horseback you may see an abundance of wildlife.  Whitetail and mule deer, antelope, bobcats and coyotes are just a few of the wildlife that makes their habitat on our ranch.  In the White River you can cast a line for catfish and fry them up that evening to top off the day.  Hunting for fossils, rock, arrowheads and petrified wood are other activities you can do on your visit.

Depending on the time of year, you are welcome to join us during our round ups, brandings, fencing, haying and other ranch work.
